Benefits of green clay

Do you know how much green clay can do for you? Do you know all the possibilities and the benefits it can have for your skin and hair? Today, we will tell you about it!

Green clay has always been used to heal small wounds but also for use in body care. The main quality of green clay is that it is purifying, making it ideal for treating the most oily skins and those prone to acne and the most sensitive scalps.

What are the benefits of green clay?

Green clay has many properties that make it an excellent remedy for everything. Thanks to its great healing power it is a very effective ingredient to heal wounds, and since it absorbs skin toxins, thus preventing the proliferation of microbes, its use is highly recommended in very oily skin, with blackheads and acne breakouts. In addition, it softens the skin, refining its texture, so it has a detoxifying and purifying effect.

Its use at capillary level is also very interesting to clean our hair in depth. The scalp often contains residues of the different products we use, such as lacquers or foams that, when added to the sweat we generate, can trigger some kind of hair discomfort. Therefore, a shampoo or mask enriched with green clay is perfect for removing all those impurities that we don’t usually pay much attention to.

How is it used?

The best known clay-based treatment is the facial mask. But it can also be used as a mask for oily hair or to relieve dry skin. Use the clay already in pieces for a better application. Place the chopped green clay on a glass or stoneware plate (do not use a metal or plastic one). Cover the pieces with water and leave them to soak for 30 minutes to 1 hour. Let the clay melt by itself until the consistency seems appropriate, not too hard (add water if this happens), not too soft (add more clay). Immediately apply it to your face, scalp or body.

Another option is to buy it already in cream format (in herbal shops you have some of the only ingredients of which are water and clay) and apply it directly to the area to be treated, wait until it dries and remove it with warm water.

Where can I buy it?

Green clay is one of the easiest to find. In fact, it is the most widely marketed. You will find it in pieces, powdered or even as already included in any facial or body beauty treatment in herbalists or shops specializing in biological or dietary products. Sometimes you can also find it in pharmacies or parapharmacies.

In the same way, you will find them on the Internet. In this case, you must ensure that it is a trusted site.
